Twelve Grapes, One Wish Each
At midnight on New Year's Eve, all of Spain does the same thing. As the clock at Puerta del Sol strikes twelve, everyone eats one grape for each chime and makes a wish with every one. Getting all twelve down in time is harder than it sounds, and laughing through it is part of the tradition.
Hecho en Madrid is our love letter to Spain's capital: its makers, markets, and tablaos, and the barrios where the whole Spanish-speaking world meets. This edition ends the year at the center of it all. You'll spend a day in Toledo, sit close to the stage at the world's most famous flamenco tablao, and ring in 2028 at a gala dinner on a private terrace overlooking Puerta del Sol, above the crowd. Then we'll start the new year slowly, the Madrileño way, with chocolate con churros.
